News: We are pleased to announce that CAB Direct now has the ability to be searched via MetaLib. For some of you this is an important update and we thank you for your patience while we overcame some technical difficulties to become fully compliant with MetaLib standards.

Other news : June 2010: New CAB Direct Enhancements

In response to your needs we have made some improvements and enhancements to CAB Direct to enable your searching, outputting and saving of records to be simpler and faster:

  • Records now remain permanently marked throughout an entire search session, remaining visible as you move from one search and set of search results, to a new search and set of search results

  • We have added a new Marked Records section which enables you to select up to 1000 records for further manipulation, to print, export or email

  • You can now save up to 500 records permanently in MyCABDirect 

  • You can now export citations or full abstracts directly to RefWorks and EndNoteWeb

  • An XML gateway for federated search connections, CABDirect MXG, will support simple and complex boolean queries for any search fields in CAB Direct, including author, title, subject, abstract, keyword, publication year; This enables CAB Direct to be searched alongside other databases, sources and platforms

  • This release also includes an upgrade to the very latest version of SOLR (1.4.1) - the search engine which enables CAB Direct to return search results across 8.8 million records in a tenth of a second.
