Abstract

This new high-yielding, disease-resistant variety was developed at North Carolina by subjecting a superior strain of Virginia Bunch to × irradiation, and subsequent selection. The variety, which is thick-hulled, is not subject to growth cracking and kernel decay as is NC2, currently the most widely-grown variety in North Carolina.
