A case is reported in a 2-year-old girl from Morocco, who presented in 1999, with a 15-day history of nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, profuse diarrhoea and weight loss. Parasitological examination of stool samples was negative; blood tests revealed polynuclear eosinophilia. The fly larva, measuring 36 mm in length, was discovered among samples of vomited material, and was identified as E. tenax.
