Abstract : The genus group name Brachylepis Karpenko & Gulyaev, 1999 is a junior homonym of the genus Brachylepis Kolbe, 1894. I propose a new replacement name Novobrachylepis nom. nov. for Brachylepis Karpenko & Gulyaev, 1999. The name is from the Latin prefix "novo" (meaning "new" in English).
