    , expecting to provide the scientific evidence for the reasonable utilization of Senecio scandens. Method: The essential oil was extracted from the cultivated and the wild Senecio scandens with the steam distillation, and was analyzed with GC-MS. Result: The results showed that main chemical components of the cultivated-essential oil and the wild-essential oil had certain difference: the 23 compounds and 21 compounds were identified from the cultivated and the wild Senecio scandens respectively, the 13 compounds were the same among them. Conclusion: The chemical components of essential oil in Senecio scandens was identified and each content was determined by this method, thus the study will provide the scientific evidence for the reasonable exploitation and sustainable utilization of Senecio scandens.
