About CAB Direct Environment
The CAB Direct Environment section is a thematic information resource for readers looking for research and evidence on environmental change, management and policy. It brings together material across climate change and adaptation, biodiversity and conservation, pollution and environmental quality, land use, sustainable agriculture, water resources, ecosystem resilience, sustainability, and environmental policy. The section is organised to help readers identify relevant topics, understand the scope of published material and move from an overview to the underlying evidence. For general information about the wider CAB Direct project, see /about/.
What the Environment section covers
Coverage spans environmental systems, pressures, responses and practical decision-making. Core themes include climate change and adaptation; biodiversity, conservation and ecosystem resilience; pollution and environmental quality; land use and sustainable agriculture; water resources and sustainability; and the evidence used in environmental policy. These themes may overlap because environmental questions often connect ecological processes, resource management and policy choices.
CAB Direct has historical roots in CABI scientific and bibliographic information services. CAB Direct was launched by CABI in 2003 as its own platform for CAB Abstracts. On this site, the Environment section uses a topic-based structure to help readers locate and understand research relevant to environmental questions.
How information is checked and explained
The Environment section identifies contributors by role and subject coverage and connects readers to the site-wide pages that explain editorial practice. Current editorial procedures are set out at /editorial-policy/, while the approach to assessing evidence is available at /how-we-rate-evidence/. Information about corrections is available at /corrections/, and contributor profiles can be found at /authors/.
This overview does not set a separate review interval or article-level review requirement. Readers should use the linked editorial policy and evidence pages for the current rules that apply to publication, review and correction.
