Tobias Mardle

Tobias Mardle is an author with a background in agricultural engineering. A graduate in Agricultural Engineering, his earlier work focused on explaining farm machinery, guidance systems and the use of field data to growers and agricultural advisers.

At CAB Direct, Tobias covers precision agriculture: yield mapping, soil and crop sensors, variable-rate application, drones and decision-support software. His articles separate what a technology has been shown to do in trials from what manufacturers claim, and note the costs and conditions that affect results on real farms.

Figures on yields, input savings and machine performance in his articles are checked against traceable sources and carry their source and date. Each article names him as author with a stated role, and corrections are dated and remain visible in the text.
