Maya Hartwell

Maya writes the environment and plant science explainers. Her editorial focus includes biodiversity, ecosystems, water quality, environmental pollution, plant biology, invasive plants, natural materials and the use of biological resources in environmental technologies.

She specializes in translating environmental and botanical research into accessible explanations while keeping experimental findings separate from broader sustainability claims. Her articles identify the geographical and ecological context of research and distinguish laboratory evidence from conclusions demonstrated under field or operational conditions.
